Certified Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coder, Provider Practice-Primary Care.

Key Responsibilities

• Review medical documentation and assign appropriate codes (ICD-10, HCPCS, CPT)
• Support coding compliance and participate in appeals management for Medicare and Commercial Carrier workflows
• Provide guidance to medical professionals to improve documentation accuracy

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Health Information Technology or Certification in Coding required
• Knowledge of diagnostic and procedural terminology, ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding schemes preferred
• Certification such as RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CPC-A, CCS, CCS-P, CCS-H, or COC required
• Must obtain certification within one year of hire if not certified at the time of hire
• Strong understanding of medical coding standards and compliance guidelines
