Certified Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Contract Coding Specialist (Part Time - Remote).

Key Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation to assign appropriate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes for billable services
• Ensure coding accuracy in alignment with CMS, Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer requirements
• Collaborate with billing specialists to resolve claim edits, denials, and rejections related to coding

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in medical coding, preferably in behavioral health or dementia care
• CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) required
• Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
• Familiarity with Athena EHR and billing system preferred
• Understanding of payer-specific rules, including Medicare and value-based care programs
