Certified Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a DRG Specialist to review clinical documentation and ensure accurate coding compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate medical records for accurate DRG assignment and compliance with guidelines
• Coordinate DRG reimbursement issues among various departments and track quality statistics
• Prepare and present training on accurate DRG assignment and assist in auditing coder work

Required Qualifications

• 3 years of clinical acute care medical/surgical experience or completion of relevant health information program
• Experience with the Prospective Payment System and DRG selection
• Knowledge of computer technology and DRG methodology
• Licensure as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or equivalent
• Current licensure in the state where the facility is located or a multistate license if applicable
