Job Summary
To support accurate medical record documentation, the full-time Certified Coding Specialist will perform CPT and ICD10 coding for complex encounters, collaborate with providers, and train staff, all while working remotely from specific states.
Key responsibilities
- Utilizes technical coding expertise to review medical records and code physician professional services and diagnosis codes with a focus on accuracy
- Provides documentation feedback to physicians and trains staff on coding and billing practices
- Collaborates with operational areas to resolve claim issues and ensures charges are captured through reconciliations
Required qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
- Zero to two years of experience in a relevant coding role
- 94% accuracy on the organization's coding test
