Certified Coding Specialist

Job Summary

Providing training and leadership to junior coders, the full-time remote Certified Coding Specialist will perform coding functions by reviewing patient medical records and ensuring accurate coding for charge entry.

Key responsibilities

• Train, mentor, and lead Coding Specialist I employees
• Review and analyze patient medical records to assign appropriate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD codes prior to charge entry
• Conduct prospective reviews of surgical and procedural visits to ensure proper coding assignment

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• AAPC or AHIMA Coding Certification required
• 3 to 5 years of relevant coding experience preferred
• Experience in CPT and ICD coding preferred
• Proficiency in MS Office applications required
