Certified Coding Specialist

Job Summary

To support the Coding department, the temporary remote Certified Coding Specialist will accurately assign ICD-10 and CPT codes, resolve coding edits and rejections, and ensure compliance with pro-fee coding standards over an estimated assignment length of 3-6 months.

Key responsibilities:

• Accurately assign and appropriately sequence ICD-10 and CPT codes along with applicable modifiers
• Contact clients regarding inadequate, ambiguous, or unclear documentation for coding purposes
• Monitor regulatory and payer changes related to diagnostic and procedure coding

Required qualifications:

• Active credentials such as CPC, CCS, CIC, COC, or CRC
• 3+ years of experience in medical coding for professional fee and facility
• Multi-specialty coding experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, PCS, CPT, HCPCS, modifiers, and E/M guidelines
• Ability to work independently in a remote, metric-driven environment
