Job Summary
To support efficient revenue cycle processing, the full-time remote Certified Coding Specialist will review and evaluate medical record documentation to assign and validate ICD-10-CM and HCPCS/CPT codes for services provided at the Brown Cancer Center, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and standards.
Key responsibilities:
- Assign, validate, and resolve coding issues for various patient types, including Medical Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant
- Maintain productivity standards by clearing a minimum of 75 pre-bill edits daily and ensuring timely charge capture
- Perform coding audits and collaborate with team members to support coding compliance and reduce error trends
Required qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED/Equivalent
- Completion of a Certified Coding Program
- Three years of outpatient coding experience
- Nationally accepted Certified Coding Credentials (e.g., RHIT, RHIA, CPC, CCS)
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and oncology billing
