Certified Coding Specialist

Job Summary

To support outpatient surgical coding needs, the remote Certified Coding Specialist will assess medical documentation to accurately code diagnoses and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and payer requirements.

Key responsibilities:

• Comprehend medical record documentation to assign codes for concurrent and discharged accounts across multiple specialties
• Analyze high-risk encounters for accurate charge capture and identify any missing charges prior to encounter completion
• Facilitate modifications to clinical documentation through query interaction to support the level of service rendered

Required qualifications:

• Minimum education of an Associate's degree
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology, Anatomy, and Physiology
• One of the following certifications is required: CPC, CCS, RHIT, RHIA, or COC
