Job Summary

To enhance revenue integrity, the full-time remote Revenue Cycle Coding Edit Specialist will focus on inpatient record abstraction and precise medical coding, ensuring accuracy in data retrieval and compliance with coding standards.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately assign diagnostic and procedure codes for inpatient accounts while adhering to coding guidelines and compliance regulations
• Review medical documentation within various electronic health systems to resolve coding claim edits and ensure timely responses to departmental requests
• Abstract additional data elements as required by the enterprise and maintain adherence to quality and productivity coding standards

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in HIM/HIT preferred
• Must hold one of the following certifications: CCS, RHIT, or RHIA
• 2+ years of recent inpatient medical coding experience in a hospital or large multi-facility setting
• Proficient with various encoder and EMR systems, including Optum eCAC and Epic
• Demonstrated experience working effectively in a remote environment
