Certified Coding Specialist II

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Single Path Coding Specialist II (Remote).

Key Responsibilities

• Review medical record documentation and assign appropriate ICD-10-CM diagnoses and CPT codes
• Validate and process medical necessity edits and payer specific edits for hospital and professional coding
• Monitor Discharged Not Billed accounts and ensure timely processing of outpatient and inpatient encounters

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Associate Degree in a work-related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Five years of experience with proficiency in coding surgical encounter specialties
• Current role-related certifications such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or COC
• Successful completion of the Coder Proficiency Exam (pre-hire)
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT-4 coding conventions
