Certified Coding Team Lead

Job Summary

Supervising a remote coding team, the full-time Certified Coding Team Lead will manage daily coding tasks, assist with client and internal Revenue Cycle requests, and ensure accurate coding for ambulatory surgical procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Interface with clients and internal Revenue Cycle teams to assist with requests and questions
• Review production coders' work for quality and provide compliant feedback
• Participate in daily coding and support management in denial management and client education

Required qualifications

• Coding certification through AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, COC, RHIT, CCS, etc., no apprentice designation)
• 5 years of outpatient surgical coding experience
• 1 year of team lead experience or demonstrated leadership qualities
• Successful completion of formal education in ICD-9-CM/ICD-10/CPT coding, medical terminology, and anatomy/physiology
• Minimum of 2 years of acute care coding experience across all patient types
