Certified Coding Training Specialist

Job Summary

To support the continuous development of coding and auditing staff, the part-time Certified Coding Training Specialist will lead new hire onboarding, provide ongoing training and quality assurance, and serve as a subject matter expert on coding guidelines while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end onboarding processes for new coders and auditors, conducting intensive virtual training sessions
• Serve as the primary resource for the Risk Adjustment Coding Services team by answering complex coding questions and resolving disputes
• Develop and maintain a centralized library of training materials and conduct bi-weekly project meetings to address common errors

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum 5 years of production coding experience in a risk adjustment environment
• Current core coding credential (e.g., CPC, CRC, CCS, CCS-P); CRC preferred
• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM, coding guidelines, and risk adjustment models
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and coding platforms
