Certified DRG Reviewer
Job Summary
Working remotely during Eastern Standard Time (EST) business hours, the full-time Certified DRG Reviewer will analyze inpatient claims to ensure coding accuracy and appropriate DRG assignment while identifying cases for clinical review.
Key responsibilities:
- Analyze and review inpatient claims to validate ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for accurate DRG assignment
- Perform comprehensive initial reviews according to standard operating procedures and departmental guides
- Collaborate with physician reviewers and attend departmental meetings and training as required
Required qualifications:
- Coding Certification (CCS, CIC, or RHIT) required
- At least 3 years of experience in MS-DRG and APR-DRG validation in acute care inpatient coding
- Completion of college-level courses in medical terminology, anatomy, pathophysiology, and medical coding
- Adherence to Official Coding and Reporting guidelines and regulatory compliance
- Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and related applications
