Job Summary
Seeking a Certified ED Coder, the full-time remote Coding Specialist will provide CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding for Outpatient Facility Emergency Department charts, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and maintaining high accuracy and productivity levels.
Key responsibilities:
- Accurately apply diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS
- Calculate ProFee and/or Facility E/M levels and recognize critical care cases based on patient acuity
- Participate in company-provided training and maintain compliance with ethical coding standards and internal policies
Required qualifications:
- Certification through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P) is mandatory
- Minimum of 2 years of on-the-job coding experience is required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook is necessary
- Must have reliable internet, a phone, and current coding reference materials
- Ability to maintain a productivity level and accuracy rate of 95% or higher
