Certified ED Coder

Job Summary

Seeking a Certified ED Coder, the full-time remote Coding Specialist will provide CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding for Outpatient Facility Emergency Department charts, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and maintaining high accuracy and productivity levels.

Key responsibilities:

• Accurately apply diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS
• Calculate ProFee and/or Facility E/M levels and recognize critical care cases based on patient acuity
• Participate in company-provided training and maintain compliance with ethical coding standards and internal policies

Required qualifications:

• Certification through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P) is mandatory
• Minimum of 2 years of on-the-job coding experience is required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook is necessary
• Must have reliable internet, a phone, and current coding reference materials
• Ability to maintain a productivity level and accuracy rate of 95% or higher
