Certified ED Coding Validator

Job Summary

A company is looking for an ED Coding Validator - REMOTE.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform focused account and quality reviews of outpatient records to validate ICD-CM and CPT code assignments
• Ensure compliance with outpatient coding mandates and reporting requirements
• Provide ongoing education and feedback to coding staff and assist in performance improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business or Health Care Administration
• Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
• Minimum of five years of experience coding Emergency Department accounts in a large, teaching, acute tertiary care setting
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-CM and CPT coding systems
• General knowledge of hospital information systems and coding/billing regulations
