Certified Emergency Department Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Hospital Emergency Department Coder who will review medical records and assign codes with accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Reviews emergency room medical records to assign ICD, CPT, HCPCS codes accurately
• Meets and exceeds productivity and quality standards
• Provides training to fellow staff to improve coding outcomes

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of ER coding experience in a hospital facility
• ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, E/M experience required
• High School Diploma or GED with completion of a coding certification program
• Associates Degree in Health Information Management or similar preferred
• Coding credential required from AHIMA/AAPC (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC)
