Certified Family Medicine Coding Specialist

Job Summary

To support a diverse range of specialties, the full-time Certified Family Medicine Coding Specialist will work remotely to provide accurate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding services while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and ethical standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Accurately apply diagnosis and procedure codes utilizing ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS for various specialties
• Maintain compliance with internal policies, coding guidelines, and ethical standards while participating in ongoing training and education
• Ensure a productivity level and accuracy rate of 95% or higher in coding tasks

Required qualifications:

• Certification through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P) is mandatory
• Minimum of 2 years of on-the-job coding experience is required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, including basic spreadsheet functions and email management
• Working knowledge of EMR and billing systems is essential
• Must have reliable internet access and current coding materials such as CPT and ICD-10-CM references
