Certified Financial Counselor

Job Summary

Providing personal financial counseling services remotely, the full-time Certified Financial Counselor will assist military service members and their families with financial education, one-on-one counseling, and the development of spending plans while coordinating workshops and managing communication with military leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personal financial counseling and management services to military personnel and their families
• Coordinate and conduct Personal Financial Management classes on various topics related to the military lifecycle
• Develop informational financial materials and respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (associate degree plus 4 years or high school diploma plus 6 years)
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience
• U.S. citizenship and fluent English; bilingual in English and Spanish if required by contract
• Certification as an Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC)
• Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
