Certified Financial Counselor II

Job Summary

Providing financial guidance and support to patients, the part-time Certified Financial Counselor II will review insurance coverage, assist with payment arrangements, and facilitate communication between staff and leadership while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Review EMR and visit in-house patients to collect estimated patient portion amounts and verify insurance information
• Provide financial counseling to patients regarding insurance benefits, payment options, and financial responsibilities
• Monitor patient financial status, assist with financial aid applications, and act as a patient advocate when communicating with insurance carriers

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 3 or more years of experience in Patient Access, healthcare, or billing required
• Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) or Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) required within 180 days of hire
