Certified General Surgery Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for a General Surgery and Trauma Coder, Provider Practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Review medical documentation and assign appropriate diagnostic and procedure codes
• Support coding workflows and manage denial reviews and appeals
• Educate providers on documentation accuracy and coding guidelines

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Health Information Technology or Certification in Coding required
• Knowledge of ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding schemes preferred
• Certification such as RHIA, RHIT, CPC, or CCS required
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Experience in General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, and Trauma coding preferred
