Certified HCC Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for an HCC Coding Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and code patient medical records according to client-specific guidelines
• Follow ICD-10-CM Coding Guidelines and Risk Adjustment Data Abstraction Rules for accurate code assignment
• Maintain a quality score of 95% or higher and meet ongoing productivity levels based on project requirements

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Must be certified through AAPC or AHIMA with acceptable credentials (CPC, CRC, COC, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CCS-P)
• At least 6 months of HCC experience and 1 year of on-the-job coding experience required
• Working knowledge of EMRs, billing systems, and abstraction platforms
• Must have a reliable internet connection and current coding materials such as ICD-10-CM references
• Proficiency in Microsoft programs like Excel and Outlook
