Job Summary

A company is looking for a HIM Coder (C).

Key Responsibilities

• Assign codes accurately to diagnoses and procedures in compliance with regulations
• Query physicians or hospital staff as needed to ensure proper code assignment
• Abstract data from medical records and enter required elements into the hospital information system

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• CPC-A or COC-A certification required
• Thorough knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
• Understanding of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
• Experience using an encoder and EMR
