Job Summary

To support healthcare operations, the full-time HIM Hospital Coder-Inpatient will perform coding in accordance with established guidelines, focusing on inpatient and surgical coding while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Perform inpatient and surgical coding in compliance with CMS, ICD-10, and organizational guidelines
• Utilize coding knowledge to ensure accuracy and adherence to coding conventions
• Work independently to manage coding tasks within a specified timeframe

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's Degree preferred
• Certifications such as CCS, CPC, CCS-P, RHIT, or RHIA are required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in inpatient and surgical coding
• Experience with specific coding systems in Gastroenterology, Orthopedics, Neurology, Spine, and Cardiology
• Knowledge of E/M coding in both office and hospital settings
