Certified Hospital Coding Educator

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Hospital Coding Reviewer/Educator for Inpatient services.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducts chart reviews to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures for compliance and reimbursement
• Maintains high coding quality standards by assigning appropriate codes and providing education to stakeholders
• Identifies trends in coding practices and formulates recommendations for process improvements

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or completion of a coding certificate program
• Thorough knowledge of official coding guidelines as per AMA, AHA, and CMS
• One of the following national certifications: CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CPC, or COC
• Seven years of relevant hospital inpatient and/or outpatient coding experience required
• Advanced knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
