Certified Hospital Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Hospital Coding Specialist, Sr - Radiation Oncology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitates improvement in medical record documentation for coding, billing, and compliance
• Accurately reviews and codes diagnoses and procedures using ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM/PCS, and CPT-4 coding systems
• Participates in quality audits and collaborates with coding and other teams to achieve departmental goals

Required Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Health Information Management or completion of AHIMA's Independent Study program
• Must maintain certification as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, or CPC
• Two years of previous hospital coding experience required
• Thorough knowledge of ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM/PCS, and CPT-4 coding classification systems
• Score of 85% or better on the coding skills test
