Certified Hospital Outpatient Coder

Job Summary

Certified Hospital Outpatient Coder, responsible for coding and abstracting outpatient accounts in compliance with guidelines, this full-time remote position requires at least 1 year of hospital coding experience in Same Day Surgery or observation.

Key Responsibilities

• Assigns accurate diagnostic and procedure codes based on clinical documentation
• Reviews HCPCS charges and codes for appropriateness of modifiers
• Monitors work queues to ensure timely charging of all records

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience
• Certified Coding Associate (CCA) or other relevant coding certification
• 1+ years of hospital coding experience preferred
• Must reside in MO, IL, OK, or WI
• No prior experience required for entry-level candidates
