Certified Inpatient Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Coder 3 Certified / HIM Coding.

Key Responsibilities

• Reviews inpatient clinical documentation to assign diagnosis and procedure codes and MS-DRGs
• Analyzes medical records and assigns proper ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes using designated software
• Collaborates with clinical documentation specialists and other departments to ensure compliance and accurate coding

Required Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
• Two to three years of progressive on-the-job experience in an acute care hospital
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification required
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10 coding and various DRG methodologies
• Experience with encoder and/or Computer Assisted Coding (CAC) software
