Certified Inpatient Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Coder 3.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS/CPT-4 HCPCS codes to medical records
• Abstract required patient demographic data into the EMR and assign correct DRG/APC
• Mentor new coders and assist with coding unassigned or backlogged accounts

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 3 years of acute care inpatient and/or IVR coding experience
• Certifications such as Cert Coding Spec, Cert Prof Coder, and Reg Health Information Tech preferred
• Experience in maintaining accuracy in coding and DRG assignment
• Ability to work in a remote environment and use Microsoft applications
