Certified Inpatient Coder

Job Summary

To enhance coding accuracy and compliance, the full-time Certified Inpatient Coder will assign ICD-10 and PCS codes for medical diagnoses and procedures while working remotely and collaborating with healthcare professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Reviews patient accounts post-admission and updates coding as documentation is added
• Collaborates with physicians and compliance teams to ensure accurate coding and capture quality measures
• Engages in continuing education to improve coding knowledge and skills

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Coding-related certification from AHIMA or AAPC, with CCS Certification preferred
• 1 year of inpatient coding experience or 3 years of outpatient coding experience
