Certified Inpatient Coder

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Facility Inpatient Coder, the fully remote position offers full-time preferred or part-time opportunities (minimum 20 hours/week) focused on accurately coding acute care inpatient medical records and ensuring compliance with coding guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Review and accurately code acute care inpatient medical records, assigning ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes
• Analyze physician documentation for compliance and collaborate with Clinical Documentation Integrity teams as needed
• Maintain productivity and quality standards while staying current on coding regulations and industry best practices

Required qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of recent acute care inpatient facility coding experience
• Strong understanding of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, MS-DRG assignment, and POA indicators
• Experience with Epic and 3M Encoder systems
• One of the following certifications: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or COC required
