Job Summary

To ensure accurate coding and abstracting for patient records, the full-time Certified Inpatient Coder will analyze medical records, apply coding guidelines, and manage multiple coding demands while working onsite in Lake Success, NY.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret medical records to ensure accurate selection of diagnoses and procedures
• Utilize coding resources to identify appropriate codes and ensure compliance with regulations
• Generate physician queries to clarify documentation and assist in educating clinicians on proper coding practices

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 3 - 5 years of technical coding experience required
• Certification as a Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) or equivalent coding certification required
• Inpatient facility coding experience preferred
