Certified Inpatient Coding Audit Lead

Job Summary

Providing technical leadership and hands-on auditing support, the full-time Certified Inpatient Coding Audit Lead will perform inpatient coding audits and oversee daily audit operations in a fully remote environment, ensuring quality and compliance within the coding team.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive audits of inpatient facility coding, focusing on MS-DRGs, ICD-10-CM/PCS, and quality measures
• Lead daily audit operations, including creating audit batches, monitoring production, and training new auditors
• Prepare audit reports and collaborate with leadership to identify workflow improvements and best practices

Required qualifications

• RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification
• Minimum 3 years of inpatient facility coding auditing experience
• Previous experience leading or mentoring coding auditors preferred
• Outpatient facility auditing experience preferred
• Experience supporting remote and/or offshore coding teams is a plus
