Certified Inpatient Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Coding Specialist II (Remote).

Key Responsibilities

• Review medical record documentation and assign appropriate ICD-10 codes and MS-DRGs/APR-DRGs
• Abstract required data per facility specifications and monitor Discharged Not Billed accounts
• Collaborate with Clinical Documentation Specialists and medical staff to ensure completeness of documentation

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
• Successful completion of the Coder Proficiency Exam (pre-hire)
• Licensure as RHIA, RHIT, or CCS
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding conventions and health information systems
