Certified Inpatient Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Remote Inpatient Rehabilitation Coding Specialist - IRF.

Key Responsibilities

• Code IRF records using current ICD coding version within the timeframe set by the supervisor
• Maintain coding schedule as assigned and work closely with the PPS Coordinator/Outcomes Manager
• Serve as back-up for timely transmission of IRF PAIs for all Medicare inpatients

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Certifications: RHIT, RHIA, or coding certification (CCA, CCS) by AHIMA or coding certification (CPC, CIC) by AAPC required
• Minimum two years' current experience in inpatient rehabilitation hospital coding (UB04 and IRF PAI)
• Maintains current licensure/certification for the position, if applicable
• Advanced computer knowledge and familiarity with basic office equipment
• Ability to work remotely and adhere to organizational policies regarding confidentiality and compliance
