Certified Inpatient Coding Specialist

Job Summary

Providing comprehensive coding services, the full-time Certified Inpatient Coding Specialist will perform CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding for multiple specialties in a remote capacity while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and maintaining high-quality standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform accurate analysis of medical records to assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
• Recognize critical care cases and apply diagnosis and procedure codes with high specificity
• Maintain quality and productivity standards while communicating professionally with clients

Required qualifications:

• Certification through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P) is mandatory
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in inpatient coding is required
• Advanced knowledge of EMR and billing systems is essential
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook is necessary
• Current coding materials such as CPT and ICD-10-CM references must be maintained
