Certified Inpatient Coding Specialist

Job Summary

To support a growing coding team, the full-time Certified Inpatient Coding Specialist will work remotely, providing CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding across multiple specialties while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and maintaining high accuracy standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide accurate coding services, including the application of diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS
• Calculate ProFee and Facility E/M levels using company algorithms and recognize critical care cases based on patient acuity
• Participate in ongoing training and maintain compliance with ethical coding standards and company policies

Required qualifications:

• Certification through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P) is mandatory
• Minimum of 2 years of on-the-job coding experience required
• Experience in a teaching hospital is preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook is necessary
• Must maintain a productivity level and accuracy rate of 95% or higher
