Certified Inpatient Coding Team Lead

Job Summary

Providing day-to-day supervision and instruction for coders, the full-time Certified Inpatient Coding Team Lead will oversee hospital inpatient accounts to ensure appropriate reimbursement and compliance with federal and state regulations while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the daily activities of coders, including monitoring productivity and scheduling
• Assign and oversee coding work to facilitate timely billing processes and maintain appropriate coverage
• Act as a clinical coding subject matter expert, resolving inquiries and ensuring compliance with coding standards

Required qualifications

• Associate's degree or a total of 7 years of relevant experience; Bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience coding inpatient hospital medical records
• Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) is required
