Certified Inpatient Rehabilitation Coder

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Certified Inpatient Rehabilitation Coder, this remote position will identify and assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes, monitor CMS updates, and collaborate with clinical teams to ensure coding accuracy in the Inpatient Rehabilitation Department.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and provide accurate diagnosis and procedure codes during chart reviews
• Monitor CMS website for updates affecting code assignment and collaborate with clinical teams
• Participate in quarterly audits to ensure coding accuracy and compliance

Required qualifications

• Associate's degree required
• Successful completion of an approved coding program or recent graduate of a health information management (HIM) program
• At least 1 year of coding, abstracting, and discharge analysis experience in a hospital HIM department
• Certified or eligible for certification through AHIMA as RHIT, RHIA, or CCS
