Job Summary
To support patient services, the part-time Certified Insurance Verification Specialist will verify patient information, confirm insurance coverage, and assist with financial arrangements while working remotely.
Key responsibilities:
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial policies
- Contact patients and guarantors to collect self-pay balances and determine eligibility for financial assistance programs
- Maintain productivity benchmarks while updating account information and responding to inquiries from patients and insurance companies
Required qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED; Associate's degree preferred
- Certification as a Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA), Certified Patient Account Representative (CPAR), or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) required within 120 days of hire
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a healthcare or institutional setting
- Proficient in computer/data entry, with preferred experience in patient registration systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Epic experience is preferred
