Certified IRC Coder

Job Summary

To ensure coding accuracy and compliance, the full-time Certified IRC Coder will maintain standards for charge capture and monitor unposted charge logs while working remotely during daytime hours from Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Maintains established standards for coding and charge capture accuracy
• Monitors unposted charge logs for timely charge posting and ensures accurate assignment of CPT codes
• Acts as a liaison between clinical areas and coding operations to achieve revenue integrity

Required qualifications

• Completion of an AHIMA or AAPC-approved coding or health information technology program
• 4 years of recent coding or auditing experience in an acute care hospital
• Certification: Obtain CIRCC within the first six months of employment
