Job Summary
To support a growing team, the full-time remote Absence Management Specialist will analyze claims for medical support, manage ongoing adjustments, and provide counseling on leave policies and processes, including short-term disability and FMLA.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze assigned claims to determine medical support for leave and disability benefits
- Provide counseling to employees and managers on leave policies and coordinate the leave process
- Review medical documentation and communicate with relevant parties regarding claims and return-to-work processes
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; concentration in HR or business preferred (equivalent experience will be considered)
- 2 years of leave management processing or disability claims management experience preferred
- Technical knowledge of short-term disability claims management and leave management procedures
- Certified Leave Management Specialist (CLMS) designation required within 12 months of hire
- Strong medical knowledge and understanding of federal and state leave laws
