Certified Medical Assistant

Job Summary

To support Vynca's palliative care program, the full-time Certified Medical Assistant will conduct targeted outreach to educate patients and families about palliative care, complete eligibility screenings, and schedule initial visits with nurse practitioners, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct telephonic outreach to patients, ensuring high standards of customer service and patient-centered communication
• Complete structured screening forms to determine program eligibility and educate patients on services offered
• Act as a liaison between patients and the care team, managing communications and coordinating logistics for patient transitions

Required qualifications

• Current CMA or CCMA certificate issued by a recognized credentialing body
• 2 years of healthcare experience required; 8 months of previous clinical experience preferred
• 1 year of telephonic or call center customer service experience; call center experience highly preferred
• Experience working in a medical practice or healthcare setting, including familiarity with EHR platforms
• Training in motivational interviewing and patient education, with comfort discussing serious illness and chronic disease topics
