Certified Medical Bill Auditor

Job Summary

To support the AuditIQ Bill Review Service Operations team, the fully remote Certified Medical Bill Auditor will conduct line-level audits of medical bills, ensuring compliance with fee schedule rules and identifying billing errors while achieving savings expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth audits of medical bills, focusing on compliance with coding guidelines and fee schedule allowances
• Review payment recommendations and identify billing errors, including potential fraud or inaccuracies
• Assist in developing new audit methodologies to enhance overpayment recovery opportunities

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate or Bachelor's degree in nursing, medical coding, healthcare, or related field preferred
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification or another coding credential from AHIMA or AAPC is required
• At least 2 years of experience performing audits against medical records for correct coding
• Familiarity with the CompIQ Bill Review Platform is preferred but not required
• Experience in Workers' Compensation is preferred
