Certified Medical Coder

Job Summary

Seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Coder, the full-time remote position will focus on accurately reviewing medical records, assigning ICD-10 and CPT codes, and managing patient demographics and billing data while supporting clinical staff on coding standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Abstracts data and assigns accurate ICD-10 diagnosis and CPT procedure codes in compliance with policies
• Utilizes practice management systems to account for patient demographics and services performed
• Provides education and support to clinical areas regarding documentation and coding for accurate billing

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge preferred
• Accredited coding certification (CCS-P or CPC) required
• Newly obtained coding certification to three years of experience in provider coding and medical terminology
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPC coding
• Preferred specialty experience in Orthopedics, Neurology, Physical Medicine, Rehabilitation, or Pain Management
