Certified Medical Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Certified Medical Coder - Remote.

Key Responsibilities

• Code various types of patient services using ICD-10-CM, PCS, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines
• Assist in coordinating coding meetings with the Clinical Documentation Improvement team and monitor patient records for coding review
• Train and mentor new coding staff while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulations

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Health Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience
• Preferred Bachelor's degree
• Five years of acute care inpatient and/or outpatient hospital coding experience
• Certification as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CPC; dual credentials preferred
• Ability to pass a coding exam before hiring
