Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coder - Day Surgery.

Key Responsibilities

• Assign appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes to patient charts using coding classification systems
• Review medical records for accurate assignment of diagnoses and procedures, adhering to ethical coding standards
• Stay current with coding guidelines and reimbursement structures relevant to ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• One to three years of experience in medical record coding in an acute care setting
• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Associate or bachelor's degree in Health Information, Nursing, or related field preferred
• AHIMA or AAPC Certification required (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC)
• Functional knowledge of EMR systems and coding tools
