Certified Medical Coder

Job Summary

To support healthcare providers, the full-time Certified Medical Coder will accurately code medical records for inpatient hospital services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and optimizing revenue cycle goals while working remotely.

Key responsibilities:

• Review clinical documentation to assign accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for diagnoses and procedures
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer-specific coding regulations
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and resolve coding-related billing issues

Required qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in a related field preferred
• Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in profee inpatient medical coding preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
• Proficiency in using coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems
