Job Summary

To ensure accurate billing processes, the full-time Medical Coding Specialist II - Fiscal Coder will work remotely to utilize coding software for ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes, while resolving pre-bill claim edits and applying knowledge of regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize encoder and coding resources to determine appropriate codes for medical billing
• Apply knowledge of National Correct Coding Initiatives and other regulatory guidelines to select codes and modifiers
• Resolve pre-bill claim edits from various clinical areas to produce clean claims for billing

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and medical coding education, or an active coding certification
• 1 year of progressive coding experience
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent coding certification upon hire
• Associate's Degree in a healthcare-related field preferred
• 2 years of progressive coding experience in multiple specialties preferred
