Certified Medical Coder

Job Summary

Responsible for accurate code assignment of inpatient, outpatient, and emergency service diagnoses and procedures, the full-time Certified Medical Coder will work remotely, utilizing ICD-10 and CPT classification systems in compliance with official coding guidelines.

Key responsibilities:

• Assign codes for all patient diagnoses and procedures based on medical records
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines from relevant medical associations
• Collaborate with the Health Information Management Department to uphold departmental policies

Required qualifications:

• Associate's degree in health information technology or related field, or 5 years of coding experience
• Coding certification (e.g., CPC, CCS) is required
• Minimum of 2-3 years of coding experience with an Associate's degree
• Familiarity with coding software and strong analytical skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
