Certified Medical Coder

Job Summary

To ensure accurate coding of medical records for intraoperative neuromonitoring services, the full-time Certified Medical Coder will review records and assign appropriate codes using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS Level II systems while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign codes for diagnoses and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
• Prepare and submit coded information for insurance claims, collaborating with billing staff to resolve coding issues
• Stay current with coding and regulatory requirements, identifying trends and educational opportunities for accuracy in documentation and billing

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or similar certification required
• 2-3 years of experience as a Certified Professional Coder
• Expertise in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding
• Proficient in medical coding and billing software
